A Legacy of Leadership
While we lead the way in modern refrigeration solutions, our roots can be traced back well over a century to some of the industry’s earliest pioneers.
In 1877, Carl von Linde received the first patent on his refrigeration machine – a first step toward modern refrigeration applications in research, industry, commerce and household. In 1902, Willis Carrier invented modern air conditioning. His invention would go on to forever change the world, and he was later recognized among the 100 most influential people of the 20th century.
These innovators and their breakthroughs helped form the foundation for our company and gave rise to entire industries. Most importantly, their ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit continue to shape who we are today.
