Carrier China Provides Innovative Chiller Maintenance Solutions for a Battery Pioneer

The transformation toward more sustainable energy is a critical challenge that requires not only new, more efficient technologies, but also innovative optimization of traditional energy. Carrier China recently renewed its service agreement with battery pioneer, Amperex Technology Limited (ATL), to provide heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) maintenance and renovation services that will optimize energy efficiency and enable cost savings. Carrier China is a part of Carrier, a world leader in high-technology heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration solutions, a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

Since 2015, Carrier China has led the daily inspection and annual maintenance of the nearly 100 chillers at the ATL campus, which includes Carrier’s AquaEdge®19XR centrifugal chillers, AquaForce®30XW water cooled screw chillers, AquaForce®30HXC water cooled screw chillers, AquaForce®30XQ/XA air cooled screw chillers and AquaSnap®30RQ scroll heat pumps. Based on the expertise of the Carrier China service team, it successfully reduced the chillers’ failure rate and maintenance costs, while ensuring stable energy efficiency without interruption.

Additionally, Carrier China upgraded the ATL’s automatic condenser cleaning devices and compressors for its AquaEdge19XR centrifugal chillers. After the upgrades by Carrier China, it has eliminated additional costs for condenser cleaning and water treatment. Meanwhile, the compressor upgrade has reduced parts abrasion, allowing the chiller units to operate more smoothly and save overall energy consumption.
