Carrier Transicold Engineless Truck Units Help Fuentes Group Advance All-Electric Capabilities

ANDALUCIA, Spain -

The Fuentes Group, a Spanish leading company dedicated to logistics at a European level, has taken delivery of three new all-electric trucks mounted with engineless Carrier Transicold Syberia multi-temperature (MT) units. The environmentally-responsible technology is designed to support decarbonization and deliver a more sustainable future. Carrier Transicold is a part of Carrier Global Corporation (NYSE: CARR), the leading global provider of healthy, safe, sustainable and intelligent building and cold chain solutions.

The new Carrier Transicold Syberia 11 Twincool MT systems, mounted to three 100% electric Volvo trucks, join a large temperature-controlled fleet for the Fuentes Group of more than 1,000 vehicles, of which 80% is Carrier-cooled. The new assets represent the first time the Fuentes Group has specified either an electric truck or Carrier’s engineless technology.

“Carrier Transicold has been our trusted supplier for many years,” said Antonio Fuentes Fernandez, Director of Logistics and Operations, Fuentes Group. “When it came to trialling our first all-electric vehicles, there was only ever one option for who we would turn to for the refrigerated units. These trucks represent the start of a new chapter for the business, helping us move toward a greener future where cutting both harmful emissions and noise take centre stage.”

The Syberia MT’s all-electric architecture is connected to the vehicle’s battery using a Carrier energy management system, allowing it to run directly from the truck’s electric engine. The Syberia MT unit also boasts rapid temperature pull-down capability and operates at a PIEK-compliant level below 60 dB(A).

The new electric trucks and Syberia MT systems align with Carrier’s ESG goals to reduce customers’ carbon footprint by more than one gigaton by the year 2030. The company is committed to ensuring the protection and conservation of the environment, optimizing resources and making decisions for sustainable development.

“At Carrier, we take great pride in helping customers lower their carbon footprint through the use of our sustainable refrigeration equipment,” said Francisco De Andres, Managing Director Spain, Carrier Transicold. “Fuentes Group introducing these new all-electric trucks into their fleet is a statement of intent and we are delighted they have opted to partner these vehicles with our engineless technology, it truly underlines the important role Carrier can play in these decisions.”

The Fuentes Group is a family group founded in 1991 with an extensive experience placing them among the leading companies in the sector.
