Carrier’s HVAC Technology Helps Huansheng New Energy Reach Manufacturing, Carbon and Energy Reduction Goals

A customized Carrier HVAC solution is providing comfortable air conditioning and cooling the water system at a new solar manufacturing facility in Tianjin. Huansheng New Energy Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of TCL Zhonghuan Renewable Energy Technology Co., Ltd., implemented Carrier solutions to help achieve sustainability goals for its new factory, which produces large-diameter silicon components used for G12 format solar modules. Carrier successfully assisted Huansheng New Energy in building an intelligent, sustainable manufacturing facility that complies with China’s dual carbon strategy to peak its emissions by 2030 and become carbon neutral by 2060. To meet the energy-saving requirements and operating budget of the two medium-temperature and low-temperature machine rooms, Carrier provided 7 AquaEdge^® 19XRC water-cooled chillers.

The solution leverages AquaEdge’s economized two-stage compressor, which is ideally suited for the large process and comfort cooling applications needed by Huansheng New Energy’s 120,000-square-meter factory. The custom combination of multiple fixed and variable frequency drives significantly improves operating efficiency and stability for all 19 chillers to operate 24 hours a day, supporting annual production capacity of 7GW solar modules.

As one of the key projects in Tianjin in 2021, the integrated and intelligent warehousing and logistics facility creates a benchmark factory in the field of new energy components. All Carrier equipment is carefully maintained under Carrier’s BluEdge^™ service platform. It is also an example of how Carrier is helping to reduce its customers’ carbon footprint by more than 1 gigaton by 2030.
