London Healthcare Centre
A positive step towards decarbonisation
Two Carrier AquaSnap® heat pumps are providing sustainable heating, hot water, and cooling for a London healthcare centre.
The healthcare centre was retrofitted in 2022 to introduce more sustainable heating. The works were part of a Community Investment Programme to increase the number of sustainable homes and help the area take a positive step towards decarbonisation.
An AquaSnap® 30RQV inverter air-cooled liquid chiller and reversible air to water heat pump and an AquaSnap® 61AF high temperature monobloc air-to-water heat pump with integrated hydraulic module supply the healthcare centre with efficient heating and hot water.
The healthcare centre plays an important role in the local community as a hub for medical and psychological care, patient prescriptions, community nursing, mental health services, mother and baby support, and training for medical students.
The healthcare centre was retrofitted in 2022 to
introduce more sustainable heating and take a positive
step towards decarbonisation.
Low Noise and Energy Efficient
The AquaSnap® 30RQV uses variable-speed technology which allows the unit to adjust its power output based on requirements so it can maintain a consistent temperature while using less energy than the centre’s previous heating source.
The AquaSnap® 61AF is optimised for heating and provides hot water temperatures of up to 65°C.
Both AquaSnap® units offer low noise and low vibration levels. The AquaSnap® 30RQV is fitted with low-noise inverter twin-rotary compressor while the AquaSnap® 61AF is fitted with a low-noise scroll compressors.
Low noise is essential for specialised building and engineering technology that is used in the delivery of healthcare in accordance with HTM 08-01: Health sector buildings: acoustic design requirements.
These units are highly efficient and help support the healthcare centre’s sustainability goals, energy needs, cost pressures, and comfort needs.
