Carrier collaborates with HID to deliver Mobile Credentials via Google Wallet™ in the Abound™ Occupant Assistant
Charlotte, Nc. -
Carrier’s recently released Abound™ Occupant Assistant, a mobile application that seamlessly integrates into occupants' daily work experiences to improve productivity and comfort levels, now includes the ability to conveniently and securely access building spaces and systems using Android devices. Carrier is a part of Carrier Global Corporation (NYSE: CARR), global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions.
In cooperation with HID, a worldwide leader in trusted identity solutions, Abound Occupant Assistant offers mobile credentials in Google Wallet™. Users have easy, secure access to buildings and elevators simply by holding their Android phones near mobile-enabled readers. By adding mobile credentials to Google Wallet, users take full advantage of the privacy and security features built into Android phones.
“As mobile credentials for building access control continues to have explosive growth worldwide (~40% CAGR from ’22-272), it is great to work with strong market leaders, like HID and Google, to help us deliver this solution to our customers,” said Mead Rusert, Vice President of Carrier Building Technologies. “With Abound Occupant Assistant, we’re able to offer building owners a way to increase the value of their real estate portfolio with their tenants.”
With United States’ citizens spending an average of 3.5 hours a day on their mobile phones, during waking hours1, and even more hours spent on devices in other countries, transitioning to mobile for building access aligns with employees' expectations and the way they carry out their daily routines. With mobile credentials in Google Wallet, companies can remotely distribute badges across their organization reducing costs for physical cards, printers and administrative space.
Key features include:
- Delivery and storage directly on an individual’s Android phone
- Ability to easily issue or revoke credentials remotely for quick onboarding and offboarding
- Occupancy insights
“We are delighted to deliver mobile credentials in Google Wallet as part of Abound Occupant Assistant, “says Sanjit Bardhan, VP of Mobile at HID. “This provides occupants a convenient, secure, and sustainable way to access spaces as they navigate their day-to-day work routines.” Learn more about how mobile credentials in Google Wallet provide convenient, secure access: hidglobal.com/googlewallet.
