Unbelievably Frustrating!!!
After the initial August installation, we have had at least five service calls (I've lost count) \- and the new Central Air unit is still not functional. After installation, the A/C worked, but after the first cold spell, the furnace would not turn on. As far as my wife and I know, the furnace was not tested after the A/C was installed \- which I assume would have been a given. It was determined to be a faulty thermostat \- a new one was installed and the problem was still there. At the next call the Tech said the wiring to the thermostat had been hooked up incorrectly \- he fixed and our furnace was working. I should have asked him to check the A/C before he left, because the next time we needed the A/C, now it wouldn't work! After the next visit \- it was determined we needed a new board in the furnace that costs $600, and would be our responsibility to pay for. I said we would not \- so the Tech came back later and installed a new board anyway it didn't correct the problem. So now we have a working furnace, but after the last service call we were told we would have to wait until spring because the Tech needed an outdoor ambient temperature to find out the problem with the central air unit. As mentioned above \- frustrating! One of us had had to leave work early to be home to meet the Tech each time \- and no one seems to be able to fix the problem. I can understand one or two visits \- but at least five and still not working?
