Air handler did not properly fit the application (probably just sold me what they had in stock). They let my tenants suffer with no A/C in SW Florida September weather for 5 days until installation - while I've been a customer of General for over 10 years - so not good. The tech had to go back multiple times because the grill was left off due to bigger unit and no grill would fit. I blew a gasket (figuratively) that my tenant had to look at an giant open space in their hallway for a few months. Tech tried to screw in a grill but then how was my tenant supposed to access the unit to change the filter every 30 days, hhhmm? Well I spent many hours trying to call General but most calls went to voicemail, as they are super busy and undermanned in the office. It was not an easy feat, but after months of calling and holding back the final payment, they finally went and installed aftermarket hinges and latches, per our directive. Thankfully we OWN an HVAC company in NY and my husband was able to troubleshoot the issue from 1200 miles away. Overall, we got what we needed completed but the hassle over 2 months could have been avoided. We call General the best of the worst, it is Florida after all!
