Carrier Transicold announces price adjustment due to refrigerant surcharge
Rueil-Malmaison, France -
Important Notice: Price Adjustment Effective January 2025
Effective January 1, 2025, Carrier Transicold will implement a refrigerant surcharge to address the rising cost of refrigerants. This adjustment is due to a significant price increase for Refrigerant R452A, imposed by our supplier.
We understand the impact that price changes can have on our customers' businesses, and we want to assure that we have made every effort to minimize this adjustment. However, the increased cost of this essential component necessitates a price adjustment.
The refrigerant industry will see a phase-out of current refrigerants like R452A, with newer low-GWP refrigerants taking their place. This change aligns with environmental regulations like "F-Gas Regulation” in Europe, which entered into force on March 11, 2024, aims to gradually reduce emissions of fluorinated greenhouse gases ("F Gases") in the industry to zero and is aimed at helping our industry reduce its carbon footprint.
At Carrier, we are already developing efficient solutions with a new low GWP refrigerant. These solutions will be available starting Q2 2025. Initial test drives have already demonstrated excellent results, reducing refrigerant impact by 89% while maintaining high-efficiency refrigeration.
