What is the Carrier Consumer Choice Warranty?

With the Carrier Consumer Choice Warranty, you get the flexibility to choose your coverage. Upon timely registration of eligible new Carrier equipment, you can select either a 10-year parts-only limited warranty or a 5-year parts plus 3-year labor limited warranty.¹ This program puts the power in your hands, ensuring your comfort is protected in a way that best aligns with your long-term goals. Dealer participation required – to find a participating Consumer Choice dealer, please visit our dealer locator.

What are the rules for Consumer Choice Warranty selection?

The Consumer Choice warranty is designed specifically for existing residential applications and requires timely action. New residential construction installations are not eligible for this program.

When must I make my warranty selection?

The desired warranty option must be selected at the time of product registration, within the first 90 days after installation. You can change your selection only within this 90-day window.

How do grouped registrations work?

The option you select will apply to all eligible products registered together. If you want different coverage options for different products, they must be registered separately.

What happens if I miss the registration deadline?

If you register after 90 days, the standard 5-year parts warranty applies with no labor coverage. (Note: Jurisdictions where warranty benefits cannot be conditioned on registration will automatically receive a 10-year parts limited warranty, which can be changed to the labor option within the first 90 days.)

Is dealer participation required for the labor warranty?

Yes, the 5-year parts plus 3-year labor warranty option is available only if your installing dealer or contractor has officially elected to participate in the Consumer Choice program.
