What Are the Rules for Consumer Choice Warranty Selection?
The Consumer Choice warranty is designed specifically for existing residential applications and requires timely action. New residential construction installations are not eligible for this program.
Selection Timing
The desired warranty option must be selected at the time of product registration, within the first 90 days after installation. You can change your selection only within this 90-day window.
Grouped Registrations
The option you select will apply to all eligible products registered together. If you want different coverage options for different products, they must be registered separately.
Missed Deadlines
If you register after 90 days, the standard 5-year parts warranty applies with no labor coverage. (Note: Jurisdictions where warranty benefits cannot be conditioned on registration will automatically receive a 10-year parts limited warranty, which can be changed to the labor option within the first 90 days.)
Dealer Participation
The 5-year parts plus 3-year labor warranty option is available only if your installing dealer or contractor has elected to participate in the Consumer Choice program.
